Artist's Statement

Originally from Virginia, Sande Keil moved to Miami after graduating from the George Washington University. Her paintings, digital art and paper sculptures are exhibited in many galleries, hotels and corporate collections in the United States, South America and the Caribbean.

"In my paintings I work towards a still-life hyperrealism of tropical foliage. I find a small botanical area and isolate it from its complex surroundings so the viewer can see the rich details of nature that are often over- looked. Plants, flowers and trees of various textures and brilliant colors are anchored in backgrounds of strong light and shadows. The goal of my artwork is to convey the powerful presence of nature, explore its beauty and share the fortune of living in South Florida's tropical environment ." Sande Keil
